This is not fine dining but it is oh so good dining. When you walk into the front door there are aquariums that are filled with live fish welcoming you. As you are seated you will notice the roasted ducks hanging in the kitchen. This is not the American Chinese food that we all hate that we like. This is probably the most original Chinese (Cantonese) food south of New York I have had the pleasure of eating. If you're not familiar with OG Chinese cuisine prepare your self for unusual dishes, but don't let that stop you from trying. My latest trip I had beef tendon, it was amazing! Definitely not a texture or flavor I am used to but I'm glad I tried it. The staff are very attentive and the restaurant is clean. You really should give this place a try if you're looking for something new and exciting!
My family and I came in late one evening and they had an hour left before close. They were very gracious and sat us with no hesitation. Our food was hot and fresh. We got the house fried rice, general tso shrimp, and dim sum. It was all very good and full of flavor. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. We will for sure be back. Perfect for family dinner as everything is family style.
Sophia and I went to GuangDong Taste a year after our 1st ever visit. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals and even shared amongst each other. So it was past due to give them another go-around. Question is would the good vibes continue? We immediately got seated upon walking in. There was a good amount of people already eating lunch at several tables. Not bad for an early Sunday afternoon. After a few minutes, we were ready for our meals. Sophia ordered the chow fun noodle dish minus the sauce while I ordered salt and pepper squid, the same dish I had last time. We shared both dishes which was the right call. Everything tasted really good and was well cooked. The only slight negative was Sophia's dish lacked seasoning and she said the same thing. I'm not sure if it had to do with no sauce as requested, even though the dish tasted good. Nonetheless, we both got full and took our food home which tasted the same as earlier. Not a bad meal to fill us up for the entire day. Hopefully we'll be back here the next time we're in the area. Till next time :)
Yet another excellent dinner here. I really like the consistency and straight forward flavor that you can rely on. I keep our order generally identical except this time we ordered cashew chicken and it was actually very good. The roast duck was very tasty as usual, the French style beef steak was chef's kiss, and the fried rice was also very tasty.
2 words: Family. Style. Ahhh and the soup dumplings!!! I enjoyed that and the egg drop soup immensely. The chow fun was my main pick with beef to which the noodles were a joy to the senses. I sampled a lil' bit of everything from calamari, peking duck + soft bunz, and a type of breaded fish that was a major win on the tastebuds. They were wildly busy on a Friday night with to-go orders, cooking, big groups.. the staff did the best they could to accommodate everyone so noted on their efforts.
We were pleasantly surprised by our recent and first visit to GuangDong. The portion sizes were incredibly generous, with items coming out in family-size portions. Plan to get to-go boxes. Most of the food didn't last long enough for us to take a photo because it was so delicious and fresh! The service was speedy, and our dishes arrived quickly. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, but there is plenty of space to accommodate larger parties easily. Overall, everything was good, and we will definitely be returning when we have a taste for good Chinese food.
Incredible! Every single thing that we ordered was delicious. Their soup dumplings are fantastic, the duck was perfectly done, and their eggplant in garlic sauce was my favorite thing I ate all week. Nothing to complain about. I'm a sucker for hot and sour soup -- theirs is the best I've had since moving to Hampton Roads. Can't wait to go back and try out more of the menu!
